Live View¶
The Live View page is available at:
https://app.pixaro.ai/admin/live-view
Feature Overview¶
Live View is used to watch store camera streams, review recent playback, create surveillance events from footage, and download selected camera footage.
The page uses the store selected in the top toolbar. Confirm the correct store before reviewing cameras or creating events.
Access and Navigation¶
Navigation path: Video Intelligence > Live View
Required permissions: Video stream or surveillance access for the selected user role.
Camera View¶
The main page title is Camera View.
The screen displays configured camera streams in a grid.
Available controls:

| Create Event | Opens the Create New Event dialog using the available recordings/cameras. |
| Download | Opens the Download Video Footage dialog. |
| No. of Cameras | Controls how many cameras are shown on the current page. |
| Pagination | Moves through additional cameras when the store has more cameras than the selected display count. |
| Time Picker | Switches from live mode to playback mode for a selected date/time. |
| Go Live | Returns the grid to live camera mode. |
| Reset Cameras | Resets streams for the selected store. Available only in live mode. |
| Slider | Moves through playback time when reviewing recorded footage. |
| Playback Speed | Controls playback speed in playback mode. |
Live Mode¶
Live mode shows the current camera streams for the selected store.
To use live mode:
- Open Video Intelligence > Live View.
- Confirm the selected store.
- Review the camera grid.
- Use No. of Cameras to adjust how many cameras appear at once.
- Use pagination if more cameras are available.
Use Go Live to return to live mode after reviewing playback.
Playback Mode¶
Playback mode shows recorded camera footage for a selected date and time.
To review playback:
- Open Video Intelligence > Live View.
- Use the time/date picker at the bottom of the page.
- Select a stored date and time.
- The camera grid switches from live mode to playback mode.
- Use the slider to move through the playback window.
- Use Playback Speed if you need to review footage faster or slower.
Available playback dates depend on the store camera retention setting. The UI reads the store's configured video storage days and shows available recent dates.
Creating An Event From Live View¶
Click Create Event to save an event from camera footage.
Create Event fields include:

| Cameras | Select one or more cameras. |
| Description | Optional notes. |
| Tags | Select existing tags or create new tags. |
| Priority | High, Medium, or Low. |
| Category | Surveillance category. |
| Type | Event type. |
| Employee | Employee field is shown, but options depend on available employee data. |
Time range validation:
- Start Time is required.
- End Time is required.
- End Time must be after Start Time.
- The selected event window is intended to be short. The current UI message says the range must not be more than 10 seconds.
To create an event:
- Click Create Event.
- Select date and start/end time.
- Select the camera or cameras.
- Add description, tags, priority, category, and type.
- Click Create Event.
Created events are saved to the Surveillance workflow.
Downloading Footage¶
Click Download to open Download Video Footage.
Download fields include:

Download rules:
- The time range must be between 1 and 10 minutes.
- End time must be after start time.
- At least one camera must be selected.
- If no streams are available, the dialog shows an information message and download is disabled.
When the download starts, Pixaro opens the download URL in a new browser tab.
Reset Cameras¶
Click Reset Cameras when live camera streams need to be refreshed for the selected store.
Reset Cameras is disabled while reviewing playback and is available only in live mode.
Use this when a stream is stale, stuck, or not updating.
Troubleshooting¶
| Issue | What to Check |

| No cameras appear | Confirm cameras are configured for the selected store and the user has stream access. |
| Playback is empty | Choose a date within the store's video storage window. |
| Download is disabled | Select at least one camera and use a valid 1 to 10 minute time range. |
| No streams available in download dialog | Confirm cameras are configured and try a different time period. |
| Create Event fails | Confirm start/end time, camera selection, and store selection. |
| Stream is stale | Use Reset Cameras while in live mode. |
Best Practices¶
- Confirm the selected store before opening Live View.
- Use live mode for real-time monitoring.
- Use playback mode for short investigations.
- Keep event and download time windows focused.
- Add tags and categories when creating events so they can be found later in Surveillance.
- Reset cameras only when streams appear stale or unavailable.
